Derby Farm Flowers

Tataki-zomé Valentine’s Day Cards: 10-5

1280 Centre Street, Newton Centre

Tataki-zomé is an ancient Japanese artform where real flowers and plants are pounded to create colorful imprints. Derby Farm will have fresh flowers, cards, and small stones for this tataki-zomé project so craft crawlers can create their own floral works of art to give to their valentines. The activity is suitable for all ages, but young children may need an assist from their grown up. Come by the shop any time from 10-5 to participate—the fee for this activity is $8. While there, crawlers can also peruse the shop’s botanical-themed gifts for Valentine’s Day.

Creation Station

Valentine's Slime Palette Making: 2-3 PM

For young artists and slime enthusiasts, the workshop combines hands-on creativity with holiday-themed fun. Kids mix and customize different slimes with vibrant colors, glitter, and special Valentine’s Day add-ins like heart confetti and sparkles. They then package their slimes in a Valentine-themed palette box to take home for hours and hours of slimy fun. For parents, this is a drop off event for kids aged 4 and up. Slime is a hot kids activity and spots are limited. We recommend reserving your child’s place ASAP for this sweet and slimy event! The workshop fee is $22, and it will run from 2-3 PM.

Children use paints, sculpting supplies, and an assortment of trinkets to bring their tiny worlds to life, crafting one-of-a-kind masterpieces to take home, play with, and treasure. This hands-on experience is perfect for sparking imagination and celebrating the love of creating. Parents are encouraged to drop off children for this two hour activity, and maybe even settle into Flora’s Wine Bar across the street to dig into a charcuterie board. The activity fee is $45. Spots are limited, reserve yours today!
